We were all once young and the thrill of reading fairy tales and other story books is something that will always be within us even if were not kids anymore.
Admit it, we get fascinated by their world of happy endings and moral lessons. But the stories from the realm of make-believe oftentimes change as years pass by. Read on to find out more of the fun facts we never knew and probably forgot about fairy tales and fables.
7 | Beauty and the Beast
The original story of Beauty and the Beast, Belle, or the beauty, had several siblings. Upon going back home, they told her to stay and to never go back to the beast. But she did, and when she arrived back at the beast’s castle, he was almost dead but recovered upon seeing her.
6 | Hansel and Gretel
To set the records straight, Hansel and Gretel left behind pieces of BREADCRUMBS so they could find their way back home. If you could clearly remember, they discovered a cottage owned by a witch whom they killed in the latter part.

The Queen in the story of Snow White was really after killing her. Question is, what exactly is the color of the poisonous apple? It was both red AND white. Red for the part that had poison and white for the part without.

Another fun fact in Snow White. The Queen died from falling off a cliff, but originally, Snow white ordered that her mother wear red hot iron shoes that forced her to dance until she falls down and die.
3 | Aladdin
As far as we all know, Aladdin were only given three wishes and that only a lamp that has a genie can grant them. What we do not know is that, in the original story, Aladdin’s wishes were of no limits and that there were two items that can grant a wish. A ring inside the cavern has the same powers that the lamp had.
2 | Sleeping Beauty
One of the well loved fairy tales of all time is Sleeping Beauty. The prince kissed her and they lived happily ever after. As you can see, that wasn’t the original story. The prince did not announce to his family about his bride. instead, they waited until they had children. Why so? His mother was an ogress and eats children. She planned to eat the children but then she died in a pit and the serpents ate her alive.
